Stoa Digest #103: 🗣️ Speak Your Mind 🗣️
Me to -ve opinions: Sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of my awesome thoughts.
Hey there, Stoans!
Kudos to everyone who attempted the Charter last weekend - it’s been an intense learning experience for all of us. A whole month of putting in those long hours and late nights to finally show up and give it your best shot. 💯
Remember to showcase this as proof of work in your future endeavors and keep at it!
Go team! ⬆️
So, this happened to me yesterday.
Me (thinking to myself): Gotta make this coming week count. What are some things I REALLY wanna do? ✨
My mind (rolling her eyes): Here we go again!
Me (contemplating): That LinkedIn post in my draft needs to be published this week, no excuses.
My mind (encouragingly): Finally! Just go for it, no overthinking. It's well-written, so give it a quick spell check, grammar check, and hit that POST button!
Me (excitedly): That's one down. I should also reconnect with a long-lost friend. It's been way too long, and I'm curious to catch up with them. 🤙🏼
My mind (supportively): Yes! This is progress. Reaching out will boost your spirits, bring back some great memories, and add that fun element to your life that you've been missing.
Me (reflecting): Personal happiness is key. Sorted self-care for this week. But I need something that doesn't involve screens.
My mind (thoughtfully): Ah, a detox! Since you enjoy cooking, how about cooking that meal you've been craving for a while? 👩🏼🍳
Me (contemplating): Now that's exciting. (quickly scrolls through Instagram to save easy-to-cook, aesthetic-looking recipes)
My mind (encouragingly): A bit of sport or outdoor activity wouldn't hurt. Bring some life to the weekend. Take that first step!
Me (realizing): I know exactly what to do. (opens Playo and books a Badminton court) I've been meaning to start either Badminton or yoga for months now.
My mind (supportively): That's it! Make time for activities that recharge you and bring balance. This is definitely one of them. Go for it! 👊🏼
Me (determined): Thanks, mind! I'm ready to slay it this week.
My mind (cheerfully): You've got this! Trust yourself, take action, and let's hope the slack-off days are behind us.
Does this happen to you? 🤔
My mind (after a few hours, late at night): No excuses, no saying “not today“. Start tomorrow, without fail.
