Stoa Digest #61: Trial by Fire
Welcome to the jungle, C8!
Today, we welcome Cohort 08 folks to our community!
They have kickstarted their learning journey today on the Stoa Platform built by our Engineering Team. C8 is a fun, diverse, unorthodox group that came together to make our first offline Orientation a wonderful experience.
And we'll get to meet all of them on this Wednesday's Community Night, so stay tuned!
Cohort 08 Initiationš„³
With 80 folks coming together along with the Stoa team, the 3 days were a super spirited gala.
Day 1: From getting to know each other and meeting their teams & houses, Day 1 was filled with overwhelming emotions. And to top it a notch, C8ās very first team activity hailed for a long night and several cups of coffee.
Day 2: Getting introduced to the kind of rigor, adaptability, and drive the Stoa program would require; Day 2 was a lot of frisk, frolic, and putting on thinking caps.
Day 3: Commitment and camaraderie were at their peak on Day 3. C8 came together as a Cohort and pioneered the Stoa House championship.
About Houses at Stoa š¦
During induction, we also launched Houses at Stoa, with Cohort 08 being inducted as the first members of these respective houses:
House Seneca: Seneca the Younger is a Stoic philosopher who popularised many Stoic teachings and is probably the most well-known in popular culture.
House Marcus: Named after the 2nd century Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, best known for his Stoic writings, which were uncovered & published after his death.
House Zeno: Zeno of Citium was the founder of the Stoic school of philosophy in Athens in 300BC.
House Diogenes: Chosen after two philosophers, Diogenes of Babylon who was the head of the Stoic school in Athens & Diogenes of Sinope, one of the most eccentric philosophers of the time.

Tanvi from Cohort 06 is a certified 250 hours Asthanga Yoga Teacher, Practitioner & Student from Indeayoga Mysore. She has been in the field of fitness/Movement professionally for 8 years!
If youāve been on the fence about starting yoga or sticking to it, this session is for you!
Kicking off on Saturday, 27th August @ 8 AM, We will learn a few beginner asanas that you can practice at home & couple of Pranayama tips & techniques to improve the overall quality of life.
This weekend, Kanika & Jigar from Cohort 06 are organizing a bowling & games meetup at SHOTT for the Stoa fam in Mumbai! Itās been a while since the last Stoa Mumbai meetup, so if youāll be in town, you donāt want to miss this!
