Love - Team Stoa 🦁
This week’s spotlight falls on Vivek Dhut from Cohort 9. He recently launched his startup - Cligent Technologies which deals with automation and IoT. Here’s what he had to say about diving into the deep tech industry -
This feature is brought to you by Sidhartha Bal from Cohort 10.
What is your take on the current trend in your industry?
In the next decade, IoT is going to boom like crazy, the main reason for this is that with the advent of 5G and 6G coming in the near future, connectivity will be insanely good. From rural to urban, everyone will connect seamlessly. Everything will be automated in the future, for example, you could cook from clicking a button from your phone.
As a co-founder, what are the top 3 things you have learned on the job?
Management, strategy, and leadership. Working in an organization as an employee, you will be conditioned in a way to follow a hierarchy, do a set of tasks, highly organized but running a business is completely opposite to it, you have to make peace with uncertainty. As an entrepreneur, you need to manage everything, the costing, client relationship, HR, hardware, etc. It is very important to constantly upskill yourself to keep up with the rapid changes. Managing finances is another key skill to develop as an entrepreneur.
What did you enjoy most about Stoa?
What I enjoyed most was the part of how I wore different hats every weekend and learn’t from different domain leaders in high growth startups. The culture at Stoa is amazing, there is always one person for everything. Being an introvert, Stoa forced me to embrace my confidence which resulted in pushing me to network and meet new people.
