Hey folks,
It’s already been 6 months into the year! Time flies, doesn’t it? Last week, we officially inducted C12 into the fold and bid adieu to C10. While we hit the crossroads between beginnings and endings, our super-talented music maestro Kartik Nair made an absolute banger of a track for Cohort 10! 🎶

This week’s spotlight falls on Roshan Karthik on his journey of being an entrepreneur brought to you by Sidhartha Bal from Cohort 10. 🔥
Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur?
Post-college I was clueless on what to do in life and I was an intern at that time. A friend from college told me about a product he’s working on. I really liked the product and when he told me he was looking for someone to join, I hopped on board and that’s how my journey as an entrepreneur began with EarthFokus.
What are 3 things you learned during your time as an entrepreneur that you wouldn't have otherwise?
Everybody is in deep shit, hahaha, no one’s “figured” it out.
You’ll never know if you’ve made the right decision until you’ve made the decision.
Have fun. I remember when shit hit rock bottom for us, sales were not picking up, we were scamed by our manufacturer, and so on, though the days were tough, we always had fun. And I don’t mean fun as a playful word. The journey and the process were fun!
How has Stoa shaped your perspective on entrepreneurship now?
I think what Stoa did for me is to give a structure to my thinking. Earlier all my thoughts about business were unstructured and all over the place. But now when I look at entrepreneurship, I can say three things
Mindset – How you approach situations in life and how do you solve for those problems.
Lifestyle – Do you have discipline in life? Are you responsible with your money? If you aren’t responsible with your money, chances are you might not be responsible with someone else’s money.
Skillset – Whether you are in a job or a founder you need to be good at the core skill that is required.
How do you think your past experience as a founder is helping you in your current job, if at all?
In terms of mindset, yes it has been really helpful. The way I look at processes and how I can take them up a notch higher and do better always pushes me to do better. But apart from that everything was new, I had to learn B2B sales processes from scratch, the various tools that are used like CRM, etc., It was a whole new learning experience for me and it was great.
