Hello hello folks!
Let me take y’all through my 6+ years of Bangalore life and my hacks for becoming a through-and-through ‘Luru girl. Buckle up and let's go!
Decode and learn the lingo:
The fastest track to feeling like a local here? Learning the lingo. I’ve picked up gems like “Namma” (our), “Namaskara” (hello), and friendly terms like “Maga”, “Macha”, “Bro”. And voila, I feel like I’ve been a part of this vibrant city for ages!Traffic Tango and Daily Rejection:
With time playing hide and seek in this perpetually moving city, I’ve learned to always carry snacks and a buffer of 30 minutes in my pocket. The city’s ‘Auto Bhaiyas’ have become my unsolicited reality-check gurus, while apps like Ola, Uber, Rapido, and Namma Yatri have turned into faithful steeds.Filter Coffee FTW:
I’ve discovered the secret source of Bangalore’s and my energy - Filter Coffee. Savoring this aromatic dance of taste and warmth at iconic spots like “Darshinis” and “Brahmin’s Coffee Bar” has become my daily ritual, fuelling my city explorations.Savouring the Dosa Delight:
The culinary soul of Bangalore lies in its scrumptious masala dosas. The symphony of flavors at local eateries like “Tazza Thindi” and “Vidyarthi Bhavan” has me going back for more. The delicate crunch, the spicy filling, the cooling coconut chutney - oh, it’s a gastronomic journey! (brb, I’m hungry)Co-working Wonderland:
In the midst of the city’s everyday life, I’ve found my ground of creativity in its buzzing co-working spaces. These vibrant spaces like Draper Startup House, WeWork, and Dialogues Cafe are where caffeine flows, ideas flourish, and I tell myself, “Fellow innovators, here I come”.My Artistic Oasis:
As an art enthusiast, I’ve found comfort and inspiration in places like “National Gallery of Modern Art”, “Ranga Shankara” and “Rangoli Metro Art Centre.” I have explored both traditional and modern Indian art here and am left with something new to take back every time.Find peace in the Garden City:
Amongst the city’s hustle-bustle, I’ve found my peace in Lalbagh, Cubbon Park, and beyond. Pick a book, hoop a hula, or just take a quiet stroll around the area.My Weekend Wanderings:
I like a quick escape from time to time. From the breathtaking sunrise of Nandi Hills to the peak of Savandurga, to the historical wonders of Mysore, these short adventures revive my spirit.
Despite the bustling streets and challenging commutes, I’ve found delight waiting around every corner - the blossoming cherry trees, the vibrant culture, and the friendly faces. When you finally make your way here, swing by the Stoa hub, and let’s share a cup of that famous filter coffee ☕
See y’all soon, Stoans!
